Chandler Riggs Thinks It's Possible Carl Could Get Killed Off On The Walking Dead

Fans have long believed that Rick and Carl Grimes are the only characters likely to be "safe" on AMC's The Walking Dead (and, for that matter, the Skybound/Image Comics series on which it's based) -- but actor Chandler Riggs, who plays Carl, doesn't necessarily agree.

That's what he told WGN Chicago during a February interview.

"I don't know. Whenever I get a call from Scott Gimple or any of the executives, I get really scared," Riggs said. "Last year, we were in New York and I got an e-mail from Scott to give him a call when I had a chance. [I thought], 'Please no!' He was telling me about Hershel's death."

The interview has been around for a while, but has been circulating on social media again today, possibly due to some fans speculating that he could be the "mystery cast member" appearing on Talking Dead. Typically, mystery guests tend to be actors whose character died in the episode in question.

The Walking Dead airs tonight at 9 p.m. ET/PT on AMC, followed by Talking Dead at 10 p.m.
