Syfy has a substantial next two months planned, with a new mini-series and two series launches that they hope will get people thinking high-quality Science Fiction programming again when they think of Syfy as a channel.

One of those is the new series The Expanse, starring Tom Jane, Wes Chatham, and Shohreh Aghdashloo. The two-night premiere hits on December 14 and 15, 2015 on Syfy, but they have such high hopes for the series that they've put the entire first episode online for free on Youtube and Hulu, and you can watch it right here:

Whew! Quite a few major twists and turns for a first episode, and from what we hear, that's nothing compared to what's coming next for the series. Syfy's official description follows:

"Hundreds of years in the future, humans have colonized the solar system. The U.N. controls Earth. Mars is an independent military power. The planets rely on the resources of the Asteroid Belt, where air and water are more precious than gold. For decades, tensions have been rising between these three places. Earth, Mars and the Belt are now on the brink of war. And all it will take is a single spark.

It is within this future that The Expanse begins. The series follows the case of a missing young woman that brings a hardened detective and a rogue ship's captain together in a race across the solar system that will expose the greatest conspiracy in human history."

Checkout the official website for tons more, including a prose prequel to the TV show, and check out the official premiere December 14, 2015 at 10pm on Syfy.
