Toy Story's Tom Hanks Tops Poll As America's Favorite Movie Star

Tom Hanks, the star of such films as Saving Private Ryan and Forest Gump, graphic novel adaptation Road to Perdition, and the voice of Woody in Toy Story, is America's Favorite Movie Star, according to The Harris Poll. Hanks beat out Pirates of the Caribbean's Johnny Depp, who was ranked No. 2.

The poll surveyed 2,252 U.S. adults online from Dec. 9-14, 2015.

Also listed in this effectively meaningless measurement of celebrity worship is Star Wars and Indiana Jones icon Harrison Ford, who came in fifth, just behind Denzel Washington and John Wayne.

X-Men and The Hunger Games star Jennifer Lawrence is ranked at No. 7, following Sandra Bullock.
