After the Russo Brothers let the cat out of the bag a bit early that Captain Marvel would indeed be in Avengers: Infinity War, fans had to wait until San Diego Comic-Con to find out just who would be taking on the role of Carol Danvers in the cinematic universe.

The casting of Brie Larson as Captain Marvel was met with monumental praise and had been suspected for some time. Now that everything is official, Larson isn't about wasting time, and so has set up Captain Marvel HQ at her house, or as she calls it, Larson Industries R&D Department.

The Oscar-winning actress can be seen in her latest Twitter post in a pair of Captain Marvel pajamas reading Kelly Sue DeConnick's Captain Marvel Vol. 1: Higher, Further, Faster, More. It will hearten fans of the character a great deal to see her starting with what many perceive to be Captain Marvel's true ascension into Marvel's elite. The love goes both ways, as DeConnick has gone on record saying "She [Larson] has a gravitas and she has a power to her. But you can see she also has a sense of humor and playfulness there. I'm psyched."

Marvel Studios Head Kevin Feige has nothing but great things to say about Larson's casting and is truly grateful to have her on board.

"The fact that Brie, even after she won her big Academy Award, was interested in coming in and talking to us about the character, really fell in love with this character, really fell in love with the notion of being a symbol that can inspire everyone... We were very lucky. We were very lucky that she agreed to come on board and agreed to come out tonight at the end of the panel."

Captain Marvel soars into theaters on July 6th, 2018.
