In his first public message since the passing of his mother Debbie Reynolds, Todd Fisher paid tribute to his mother and his sister Carrie Fisher, who have both died this week. Todd tweeted out a piece of fan art showing the two actresses in their most famous roles, greeting the light of heaven.

“This is a beautiful love story to witness in my 58 years,” Fisher wrote. “I miss them both so much. Love is everlasting.”

The image is of Princess Leia, Carrie Fisher’s most famous role from the Star Wars series of films, and Debbie Reynolds in rain coat as Kathy Selden in Singin’ in the Rain. The tweet followed one early on the 28th, before his mother had also gone, focused just on Carrie, where Todd wrote, “My sister has graduated to heaven, but she has left us all with so much of her. It is a very sad time for my family and all her friends.”

Carrie Fisher passed away on Tuesday morning, having had a cardiac incident on a flight on the previous Friday. Her mother, Debbie Reynolds, was reportedly discussing funeral arrangements with Todd at his home on Wednesday and told him “I miss her so much. I want to be with Carrie.” The actress and mother had a stroke and was rushed to the hospital, where she, too passed away, just a day after her daughter.

The pair are survived by Todd Fisher, as well as Carrie’s daughter Billie Lourd. Thoughts continue to go to their family in this impossibly difficult time.
