9 Years Later, Netflix Confirms Streaming Date of One Piece’s Most Underrated Arc

As one of the longest-running anime series, One Piece has over 1100 episodes, and not all of them are available on streaming platforms. The anime is currently in its Final Saga, nearing the end of the Egghead Incident Arc, where the Straw Hats meet Vegapunk and get caught up in his assassination attempt. They are doing everything they can to protect the scientist, but the World Government is persistent enough to send some of its most powerful fighters. Since 2020, Netflix has been adding arcs by dividing them into seasons, and itโ€™s still streaming only 750 episodes as of now.

As per Whatโ€™s On Netflix, the Zou Arc will be added on October 1, 2025, more than nine years after its original release. The entire arc spans Episodes 751 to 779, which are being divided into three parts. Although there is no confirmation that Netflix will include all these episodes on the same day, judging by its previous pattern, it would be strange if it didnโ€™t add the entire arc at once. Following the Zou Arc, the anime continues the story with the Whole Cake Island Arc, which spans Episodes 783 to 877, making it one of the longest arcs in the story. The release date of the Whole Cake Island Arc hasnโ€™t been announced yet, but it might take Netflix more than six months to stream it.

What Happens in One Piece’s Zou Arc?

The arc takes place on a strange and isolated island built on top of a gigantic elephantโ€™s back. The Straw Hats were split up during the Dressrosa Arc, and they are supposed to reunite in Zou, their rendezvous point, before heading toward Wano to fight Kaido. Law is with Luffy and the others, and he also hopes to meet his crew after a long time apart, since they have been separated.

However, no one could have imagined they would witness the horrifying state of the island, which is supposed to be inhabited by the Mink Tribe, believed to be a peaceful and loyal group. The devastation of the island is directly tied to one of Kaidoโ€™s underlings, and to make matters worse, one Straw Hat member is missing. The arc is shorter compared to the rest, but thatโ€™s not the only reason itโ€™s considered underrated.

The Zou Arc doesnโ€™t include major fights or even a main antagonist, meant to make the journey more thrilling. Instead, it focuses on shedding light on the Mink Tribe, the secrets of the Kozuki Clan, and bringing Luffy and his crew one step closer to finding the legendary treasure. Although the main destination after Zou is Wano, Luffy and half of the crew will take a brief detour to Whole Cake Island to confront another Yonko. Meanwhile, the rest of the crew will join Trafalgar Law and the Heart Pirates to enter Wano.
