‘Dragon Ball’ Has Given Goku A Lot Of Transformations

Akira Toriyaman has had to give Goku a number of power-ups over the years and as a result, has given the main hero of his famous Dragon Ball series in Goku, many transformations.So these are all the forms that Goku has had through Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Z, Dragon Ball GT and Dragon Ball Super. By the way, KaioKen isn’t a transformation, it is a technique that results in a power-up.

Great Ape:

Goku’s original form that he can no longer use as he has no tail, however; all Saiyan’s usually can use this form from birth.

False Super Saiyan:

This transformation of Goku was never seen in the animated series, it was actually seen during the fight against Lord Slug in the Dragon Ball Z movie Dragon Ball Z: Lord Slug.

Super Saiyan:

Goku unlocked this transformation during his fight with Freeza on Namek, this is basically the base Super Saiyan form.

Ascended Super Saiyan:

Goku unlocked this form while training to fight Cell. It was actually Vegeta and Trunks who discovered it first, however; Goku instantly noticed its weakness and never used it in battle.

Super Saiyan 2:

Gohan was the first Saiyan to unlock this transformation, which Goku then mastered himself. Fans don’t see Goku use this form until the early stages of the Buu saga.

Super Saiyan 3:

Goku is the only non-fused fighter to have unlocked this transformation, which fans got to see for the first time in his fight against Majin Buu.

Golden Great Ape:

In Dragon Ball GT Goku was given his tail back, which allowed him to transform into a Great Ape, however; he could not control it. In this form he was still able to become a Super Saiyan, which is why he was golden

Super Saiyan 4:

Once Goku figured out how to control the powers of his tail, he was able to go further than a Golden Great Ape and transformed into a Super Saiyan 4.

Super Saiyan God:

Just before Goku’s fight with Beerus at the start of Dragon Ball GT, Goku completed a ritual that gave him the powers of the gods, step in Super Saiyan God.

Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan:

Essentially this is the ascended form of a Super Saiyan God, which fans got to see for the first time against Freeza, when the space tyrant was resurrected.

Goku’s New Form:

Fans are still yet to see this new transformation in action, as they are most likely to see it against Jiren in Dragon Ball Super’s Tournament of Power.
