The preview for Episode 124 of Dragon Ball Super teased a team-up between Gohan and Freeza when Dyspo shifts his attention away from the villain toward Gohan. Dyspo has proven to be a formidable foe, and now fans will be privy to Gohan and Freeza's second team-up in the Tournament of Power.
The series released a new batch of stills teasing this big team-up as fans worry over the fate of Gohan now that he's caught in between these two powerful enemies.
The stills give yet another look at a fully powered Goku and Vegeta who are still mid-fight with Jiren, Gohan fighting Dyspo while Freeza's Death Beams rain down around them, Freeza potentially keeping up with Dyspo's speed, and the return of Golden Freeza, whose smile hints that a sinister plan may be afoot.
Fans have been wondering if this situation will lead to Gohan's elimination, and it's hard not to buy into that given how stacked the deck is against him. But this could be another ploy from Freeza much as how the two fighters tricked Universe 6's Frost before.
The odds are almost too high to lead to Gohan's elimination in such a matter. On the other hand, Freeza has been plotting something throughout the rest of the Tournament of Power. It could be that he decided to work with Universe 7 until they no longer had an advantage over the other universes. Dyspo's fight with Gohan could prove to be an advantage to Freeza, but it just has an air of oddness around it given how little damage Dyspo has done to Freeza even before he uses his Golden form.
Dragon Ball Super's "Universal Survival" arc is part of the recent simulcast agreement that sites like Crunchyroll and Funimation have scored. DragonBall Super airs on Crunchyroll Saturday evenings at 7:15 p.m. CST. Adult Swim airs the English dub during its Toonami block Saturday evenings at 9:30 p.m, and is now available to stream on FunimationNOW and Amazon Video.
There is also currently a new Dragon Ball film in the works for 2018. The film will focus on the Saiyans, the "origins of Goku's power," and potentially the story of the very first Super Saiyan God. Not only does it aim to be the best film in the series, original creator Akira Toriyama will be contributing to the film's script and new character designs.
