Naruto is one of the next anime franchises to get a live-action adaptation from Hollywood, and fans admit they are wary of the project. After all, bringing the blond ninja to life is easier said than done, but one actor did just prove he can pull off Naruto's iconic look.

Well, mostly. After all, Mads Mikkelsen did do an impromptu cosplay of the shonen hero when he visited Japan this month.

Over on Twitter, Kojima Hideo took to the site to share a few photos he took of Mikkelsen in Japan. The actor, who is working on Kojima's Death Stranding, visited the video game creator for dinner. However, the smoking pictures began circulating with Naruto fans.

As you can see below, the outfit Mikkelsen wore out with Kojima looks a lot like the one Naruto wears. The actor was spotted wearing an outer jacket with orange and black paneling. Mikkelsen's torso was covered in a bright orange while his shoulder were draped with black paneling. And, if you compare the look to Naruto, it is impossible to overlook their similarities.

After all, Naruto is known for his love of orange. In the original anime, the hero wore a mostly orange outfit, but he traded up for a new look in Naruto: Shippuden. It was there the protagonist began donning an orange-and-black jacket, and fans find it hilarious that Mikkelsen did an accidental DIY cosplay of the hero whilst in Japan.

Mikkelsen may be too old to play Naruto in its Hollywood live-action, but fans are hoping the actor gets an honorary role in the project now that he's stepped into the fandom somewhat unknowingly. So, it is time for netizens to start their fan-castings! Who do you think the actor could play from Naruto?
