Tokyo Ghoul: Are [SPOILER] About To Get It On?

If you have not been keeping up with the most recent Tokyo Ghoul manga, then you should know that a pair of main characters may be getting ready to level-up their relationships. This week, Tokyo Ghoul:re released its 121st chapter, and the installment ended on a rather surprising note. Readers who ship Touka with Kaneki were left gobsmacked when the heroine seemingly made a headstrong advance on the half-Ghoul, and it has fans convinced the pair will get it on soon.

That's right. If Touka has her way, it looks like the Ghoul may want to take her romance a step further with Kaneki. The manga's most recent chapter ended with Touka asking a very shocked Kaneki whether or not he's a virgin - and fans believe Touka's question was asked out of something more than curiosity.

There are some fans who believe the Touka may actually have been replaced by a shapeshifter like Uta, but the question aligns with the heroine's brash personality. Touka is not a character who hesitates to ask questions point-blank, and the heroine would not hesitate to satisfy her needs if she had an urge to sex Kaneki up. You know, assuming he provided consent.

The question threw fans off-guard in a big way, leading fans to speculate whether Touka or Kaneki has ever had sex before. But, as Tokyo Ghoul:re moves forward, fans are half-expecting the question to be a joke. Touka may have reason to use the question as a diversion of some sort, and creator Sui Ishida would be making the pair's sexual relationship a rather sudden thing if it did go down next chapter.

Of course, plenty of readers would be fine with the change of pace; Touka and Kaneki have been a fan-favorite ship since Tokyo Ghoul began, and audiences are convinced the half-Ghoul will need to procreate before the series ends. After all, his genetics are rather important to the franchise. If Ishida were to want to make a continuation of Tokyo Ghoul, it would help if Kaneki did have a kid with Touka or have them get together at the very least.

For now, fans can only wait for Tokyo Ghoul:re to release its next chapters. Kaneki clearly looked surprised by the question, and Touka appears totally in-control of the situation at hand. If readers have it there way, Ishida's next chapter might border on ero-manga if he is not careful.

If you are unfamiliar with Tokyo Ghoul, Viz Media describes the story below:

"Ghouls live among us, the same as normal people in every way - except their craving for human flesh. Shy Ken Kaneki is thrilled to go on a date with the beautiful Rize. But it turns out that she's only interested in his body - eating it, that is. When a morally questionable rescue transforms him into the first half-human half-Ghoul hybrid, Ken is drawn into the dark and violent world of Ghouls, which exists alongside our own."

The series debuted in September 2011 thanks to mangaka Sui Ishida. Weekly Young Jump first published the manga before it was adapted into an anime series by Pierrot. The anime premiered in July 2014 before a second season ran in January 2015. A third season has yet to be announced by any party.

Tokyo Ghoul is set in an alternate reality where creatures known as ghouls exist. The horrifying monsters survive by consuming human flesh and live amongst humans in secret. The story follows a boy named Ken Kaneki after a date-gone-wrong leaves him a half-ghoul. Struggling to adapt to his new life, Ken tries his best to fit into ghoul society, keep his monstrous status hidden from humans, and reign in the insatiable hunger he has for flesh.
