Not many comic book series make it to 600 issues. That is why when one does, it is always a special occasion. Marvel Comics has revealed many of the secrets behind Thor #600, which includes multiple artists and writers. Thor #600 will also have multiple variant covers. One of the variant covers is from artist Olivier Coipel, while Marko Djurdjevic and Gabriele Dell'Otto offer up other variant covers. The landmark issue will also include a special story by Stan Lee, which will be illustrated by penciller David Aja, who did Immortal Iron Fist. In Thor #600, Thor will clash with an opponent far different from any that he has ever faced in the past in a story by the creative team of J. Michael Straczynski and Olivier Coipel. There will also be a special story by Chris Giarrusso. Thor #600 will have over 100 pages and is scheduled to be released in comic book stores on January 21, 2009.
