Thousands Mob Iron Man 3 Casting Call

You think the people of North Carolina are just a little excited about Iron Man 3 filming in their state? In something that looked like a line you might see at an American Idol audition, thousands mobbed the Crabtree Valley Mall in Raleigh, North Carolina for an Iron Man 3 casting call. The amazing thing is that casting call was just for extras, who will likely get only fleeting seconds of an appearance in the film. The casting call wasn't even promoted as being for Iron Man 3 but rather it was promoted under the code name Caged Heat. However, it doesn't look like anyone was fooled, as most everyone was talking about it openly as an Iron Man 3 casting call. Even though the casting call wasn't officially scheduled to start until 10 AM, there were people lining up as early as 5 AM. Local news stations took some amazing footage of the line which stretched outside of the mall and around the building. No exact total on how many people were there, but the crowd looked to be several thousand. According to Tona B. Dahlquist, who runs the casting company in charge of casting extras for Caged Heat, they will need over a thousand extras for the film. Even though the first casting call for Iron Man 3 was held in Raleigh, it's actually Wilmington where the majority of Iron Man 3 will shoot. A festival being held in Wilmington this weekend necessitated the first casting call being held in Raleigh. Another casting call for Iron Man 3 will take place in Wilmington at the Independence Mall from 10 AM to 1 PM on April 21.
