Kick-Ass 2's First Official Still Features Jim Carrey

The first official image released from the production of Kick-Ass 2 (official being a somewhat loose term, of course, since the filmmakers were tweeting images all throughout production), out in this week's Entertainment Weekly, shows Jim Carrey as Colonel Stars, alongside Aaron Johnson as Kick-Ass. Carrey, whose time as a raunchy comedy icon has taken a turn for generally more serious (or at least family-oriented) fare in the recent past, plays a hard-nosed vigilante with a heart of gold, whose bluster (and guns) are mostly for show. He "auditioned" for the part by dressing up as Kick-Ass and appearing alongside Conan O'Brien to sing "Superman (It's Not Easy)," with Conan wearing a Superman shirt and cape.
