Star Wars Episode 7 Five Secrets Revealed

While one probably wouldn't know it from all the focus on the announcement about J.J. Abrams directing Star Wars Episode 7, there has actually been some other Star Wars Episode 7 news to break this week. Some of the news might turn out to be just rumors or wishful thinking, but if true, we now have a little more insight into some of the specifics of Star Wars Episode 7. 5. First Filming Location – The first filming location has reportedly been revealed to be in an unused quarry near a shopping mall in England. While the report came for a news tabloid citing an unnamed source, the location does appear as if it would fit the look for another planet, as it's been used for Dr. Who episodes in the past. 4. A Female Lead – The rumor of a possible female lead in Star Wars Episode 7 surfaced a couple weeks ago, and now Slashfilm has provided more background on why they started the rumor. While Matthew Vaughn was being considered for the directing job, he reportedly pitched Chloe Moretz as playing the lead role. Now, while it's noted that Vaughn could have been pitching his own storyline, it's unlikely because Lucasfilm was said to already have an outline for the movie and Michael Arndt has been working on the script for awhile. 3. Original Cast ReturningDirector Kevin Smith, who has a lot of connections in Hollywood, talked about the original cast returning for Star Wars Episode 7 like it was an already established fact. There have also been a couple entertainment news sites to claim their sources indicate the original cast is returning. As far as what J.J. Abrams had to say on the matter, he refused to say anything, which in Hollywood often means it's true. 2. Might Be Delayed – One of the downfalls of hiring a successful, in-demand director is that he may not be immediately available. Star Trek Into Darkness is opening in four months, and J.J. Abrams is likely committed to Paramount for a certain amount of promotional work with the film. Not to mention that J.J. Abrams has Bad Robot Productions to run. J.J. Abrams has reportedly not committed to the 2015 release date yet, so there is rampant speculation that Star Wars Episode 7 could get delayed until 2016. 1. Poster Artist Denied – Before the Internet had J.J. Abrams to talk about, the biggest Star Wars story was that famed poster artist Drew Struzan had been approached to design the posters for Star Wars Episode 7. Right in the midst of the J.J. Abrams news breaking, Drew Struzan took to Facebook to let it be known that he has not been asked by Disney to design the posters, and he probably wouldn't be interested if they did ask.
