Its fur was impervious to attack, making it impossible to for mortals to kill, and its claws were sharp enough to cut through any man’s armor. The creature could also turn himself into a damsel, luring heroes into his cave so that he could catch them off guard.Slaying the Nemean lion was the first of Hercules’ twelve trials.
