Five Best Lines From The Captain America: Civil War Trailer

The Captain America: Civil War trailer sent chills right down our spines.

Our favorite super heroes, the guys who have been saving the world together since 2008, are at each other’s throats following the events in Sokovia from Avengers: Age of Ultron.

Let’s take a look at the five lines from the Captain America: Civil War that really drilled home what’s going with the Marvel Cinematic Universe shake up.

Defensive

This could very well be the beginning of the movie or the end. Iron Man approaches a guarded Captain America, said, “Captain, you seem a little defensive.”

Cap’s response: “Well, it’s been a long day.”

The two Avenger leaders don’t seem to really want to kill each other, knowing how valuable each is as a hero and friend, but they seem to realize they’re caught up in a political battle fighting for what they truly believe in.

Stark’s Reasons

Some may call Tony Stark a villain in Civil War, some may call him an antagonist. In any case, his views are opposite that of Captain America.

He lays out his reasoning for a agreeing with the Sokovia Accords in this first trailer. “If we can’t accept limitations, we’re no better than the bad guys,” Stark says. Followed by, “Sometimes I want to punch you in your perfect little teeth.” 

Shooting At Me

Sam Wilson has a line in Civil War reminiscent of the Captain America: The Winter Soldier moment, where he says, “How do we know the good guys from the bad guys?” with Cap’s response, “If they’re shooting at you, they’re bad!”

This time around he reasons with Cap, saying, “I just want to make sure we consider all of our options because people who shoot at you usually wind up shooting at me, too.”

Vigilante

General Ross! We haven’t seen him since 2008’s The Incredible Hulk.

He lays out Civil War’s exposition, and it’s no surprise, because he’s never been too big a fan of super heroes to begin with. “While a great many people see you as a hero, there are some that see you as a vigilante,” he tells Cap. “You’ve operated with unlimited power and no supervision. That’s something the world can no longer tolerate.”

Catch that part about power and responsibility? A nice line for the first Marvel Studios movie that will also feature Spider-Man in it.

So Was I

With Tony Stark weeping over a fallen Rhodey, Cap apologizes, saying, “He’s my friend,” in reference to Bucky.

Stark’s response is a shot right to the feels and emphasizes how intense this movie has the potential to be. “So was I.”
