LINE Webtoon Presents '1000' From Sanford Greene And Chuck Brown

Sanford Greene, the amazing artist behind the acclaimed Power Man and Iron Fist series, will team up with James Bruce Brown III and Chuck Brown for a new high concept fantasy series for LINE Webtoon called 1000.

LINE Webtoon, the popular digital comics publisher pioneering the development and distribution of comics worldwide, announced today the development of its latest fantasy comic series. Co-created by popular comic artist Sanford Greene – whose artistic talents most recently include Marvel's acclaimed Power Man and Iron Fist series - and James Bruce Brown III, 1000 takes place in a modern fantasy universe where chaos and dystopia are the norm, as a cold war rages between magical beings. The series is written by Chuck Brown, whose credits include Marvel's Civil War II: Choosing Sides.

1000 reunites Greene and Brown for the first time since 2012 when they collaborated on Dark Horse's Rotten Apple. Greene, a versatile and prominent artist in the comics community, has earned recent accolades for Marvel's Power Man and Iron Fist. He has also worked closely on a variety of titles with Disney, DC Comics, SEGA, Nickelodeon, Hasbro, Warner Brothers, Fox, and Marvel Comics. Some of his best-known works include: Marvel Adventures: Spider-Man, Marvel's Deadpool and DC Comics' Wonder Girl. For both Greene and Brown, 1000 will be their first digital comic venture.

Set in a modern world of aliens, warlocks, zombies, and ancient beasts, 1000 will transport readers to a world like no other. The series follows Dragon Son - a supreme entity who's abandoned all creation - as he struggles to return to his true Dragon form by completing 1,000 acts of repentance. Son is joined by five other agents who are charged with secretly policing the world and keeping civilization from crumbling completely. Additionally, 1000 will feature an original hip-hop score with each chapter.

The project further shows how top comic talent are seeing the huge opportunity of the digital comic canvas and the power of the vertical storytelling format.
