Fans will get to experience an entirely new portrayal of Barry Allen/The Flash in November's Justice League. But in the meantime, the Scarlet Speedster can be seen in a unique role - helping families with their back to school shopping.
A new advertisement places Justice League's version of The Flash in the middle of a Walmart store, assisting customers with their various tasks to the tune of Bonnie Tyler's 'Holding Out For a Hero'. At the end of the trailer, the speedster is revealed to be a helpful, cape-wearing Walmart employee. You can check out the advertisement below.
The speedster seen in the video doesn't appear to actually be Ezra Miller - who will play The Flash in Justice League and a recently-announced Flashpoint movie - but the costume and effects are pretty spot-on. The advertisement also captures the character's helpful, but playful essence that fans know and love, especially after he stole the show in several of Justice League's trailers.
Walmart and the DCEU have grown to have an established partnership, with the retail chain carrying several exclusive Funko collectibles and various other merchandise tied to Justice League.
This isn't the first Walmart advertisement to incorporate the heroes of Justice League. A previously released advertisement showed kids going back to school while embodying Justice League's Batman, Wonder Woman, and Superman. All in all, it's a pretty adorable campaign - one that just might get kids excited about back to school shopping.
In Justice League, fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman's selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash—it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.
