Warner Bros. has just revealed that, not only does The Batman have a director, but they're going all-in on developing the entire Bat-Family for the big screen.
For a quick recap - Nightwing, otherwise known as Dick Grayson, was Batman's very first Robin. As he got older, Grayson branched out on his own, taking on the mantle of the Nightwing.
The character is one of the better martial artists in the DC universe, and he's one of the only people who's able to challenge Batman and get away with it.
It will take an actor with special skill to take on this role, but there are plenty of talented actors to pull from. Don't worry though, we've tried to narrow-down the field a bit.
Here are six actors we'd love to see play Nightwing on the big screen.
People loved Heroes while it was on the air, and a lot of that praise was due to the performance of Milo Ventimiglia. He's still killing it on TV, as his role on This Is Us has everybody talking.
Milo has the look, he has the acting chops, and he's certainly been in enough action roles to prove himself.
This could be an awesome compliment to Ben Affleck, and Ventimiglia could anchor a franchise for years to come.
Let's be real here, JGL was the first Nightwing, and are still dying to know what could've been had Christopher Nolan continued his Batman saga.
Gordon-Levitt is one of the most talented guys in the business, and his face is enough to sell tickets. More importantly, he's got the charisma to draw everyone into the story that's being told.
Dev Patel has been quickly rising through Hollywood, and his recent turn as orphan is more than enough to prove he's capable of playing Dick Grayson.
His role in Lion earned him an Academy Award-nomination, and there's more than enough buzz surrounding his name to make a splash with this casting.
Ever since Glenn left The Walking Dead, people have thrown Steve Yeun's name around when talking about Dick Grayson.
The guy is a solid action performer in action sequences, but it's his ability to speak out for justice against an older anti-hero that makes Yeun the perfect fit.
Ever since Dope debuted, Shamiek Moore has become a beloved and recognized name in Hollywood.
The young actor led an unforgettable cast in the film, and went on to shine in the Netflix original series, The Get Down.
Watch the latter, you'll see exactly why he could fill Grayson's shoes.
Kingsman: The Secret Service took audiences by storm a couple of years ago, and Taron Egerton instantly became a household name.
His ability to hold his own in fight scenes makes Egerton perfectly capable of handling the Nightwing mantle, but he's also talented enough to pull off the emotional side of Grayson when he needs to.
