Rumors regarding the casting of Green Lantern have been smothering the Internet over the last week or so, and many are wondering if the role has already been cast.
There is speculation that Armie Hammer will play Hal Jordan in Justice League, but nothing official has come from him, or Warner Bros.
The info may be true, but there's also a great chance that someone else will don the green ring. Who could it be? Well, that's still up in the air.
In the mean time, we have some idea as to who should lead the Corps to war. Check out our top five picks to play Greent Lantern for DC!
Armie Hammer is currently the rumored choice to play Hal Jordan, so he's worth noting here. While it may only be a rumor, it's one that fans can get behind.
Hammer has the look for Hal Jordan down, and he has proved he can succeed in a big budget film. The Man From U.N.C.L.E. was a successful sleeper in 2014, and Hammer had great chemistry with Superman himself, Henry Cavill.
The one mark against Hammer - and it's a big one - is his disappointing effort in The Lone Ranger. While the failure of the film is hardly on his shoulders, he certainly didn't do it any favors.
It's probably safe to label Lone Ranger as an outlier and give Hammer the role. Plenty of actors would make for a great Hal Jordan, but it seems WB has their sites set on Armie Hammer.prevnext
Ever since the day the DC Extended Universe was announced, Idris Elba was first on everyone's list to play Jon Stewart.
The actor has the look of the character down-pat, but that's not even the best thing he's got going for him. Elba has an edge that the majority of actors could never lock down. His incredible balance of grit and poise is a rare talent, and it would bring a lot into the growing DCEU.
Elba is no secret to superhero franchises, as he has had a role in each of the Thor films. The actor played Heimdal, the guardian of the Rainbow Bridge, but it looks like he won't appear again after Thor: Raganrok. That should open Elba up for a spot in the DCEU.prevnext
This may be an odd pick, but what personality could possibly be better for DC than Alan Tudyk.
The actor is a sci-fi veteran, with a fan-favorite role in Firefly, and a lot of buzz surrounding his character in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. Tudyk has expressed interest in joining a superhero franchise, and Hal Jordan possesses the kind of charm and wit perfect for Tudyk's abilities.
One could argue that Tudyk doesn't have the physique to play Jordan, but he's buffed up for roles in the past. The darkness of the DC Universe could use the light and joy of Tudyk's attitude.
This may be a long-shot, but it could possibly be the best decision WB could make.prevnext
James Marsden may be remembered by many for his forgettable role as Cyclops in the original X-Men trilogy, but the actor is making a comeback.
Marsden was given a starring role in the HBO hit series Westworld, and he was far from disappointing. Each episode saw the actor's performance grow deeper, and more intriguing.
His look is an absolute copy of Hal Jordan from the comics, and Marsden could hold his own amongst stars like Ben Affleck and Gal Gadot. If the guy can go toe-to-toe with Anothony Hopkins and Ed Harris, the Justice League should be a piece of cake.prevnext
Omar Sy has been a part of blockbuster franchises before, and he has yet to disappoint.
Many will remember the actor for his small role in Jurassic World, but Sy also kicked major ass in one of the best superhero movies in recent history - X-Men: Days Of Future Past.0comments
Sy has the athletic ability to play Jon Stewart, and the classic look of the character. If DC wanted to go with a younger, more rugged, version of Jordan, Omar Sy would be a great pick.
