The Justice League is looking to take down the Suicide Squad once and for all, but a new player has surfaced on the battlefield, and he's brought along some familiar friends.
Spoilers incoming for Justice League vs. Suicide Squad #1, so you've been warned.
While the Justice League and the Suicide Squad attempt to beat the other one into submission, there's another player in the background who's forming his own team of organized chaos, and it features some notable names from DC lore. There is one in particular though who has always been a favorite amongst DC fans, and the character makes a grand return towards the end of the issue.
Maxwell Lord manages to break some people out of the Catacombs prison, and one of those personalities is revealed to be the renowned bounty hunter Lobo. It's worth nothing that this Lobo is much like the pre-New 52 version, with his bulkier stature, long black hair, and trademark cigar. The character went a bit off the rails during the New 52 era, with a much sleeker redesign. While that was eventually discovered to be an imposter, it's unclear whether that was the original intent or merely a pivot due to the middling reaction the design received.
In any case, the character seems to back to his original roots, and he's going to play a big part in the upcoming battle between the two supergroups.
