Ming-Na Wen, who plays S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Melinda May on Marvel's Agents of S.H.IE.L.D., was asked by a fan at Heroes & Villains Fan Fest Atlanta which DC Comics character she would like to play, and Wen didn't hesitate to answer: Catwoman.

"Catwoman? Yeah, I could be Catwoman," Wen answered. "I would make an awesome Catwoman," she said to applause from the crowd, finishing with her take on the iconic "meow."

Warner Bros. announced Batman/Suicide Squad spinoff Gotham City Sirens in December, which would be Suicide Squad director David Ayer's second foray into the DCEU. Sirens is expected to introduce Catwoman and Poison Ivy into DC's cinematic universe, who will team with the Joker's crazed girlfriend Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie).

The Girl on the Train actress Haley Bennett may be tied to the role, and Game of Thrones actress Lena Headey said "why the f—k am I not?" when asked by a fan why she's not yet playing the purring prowler. Most recently, Baby Driver actress Eiza Gonzalez has been at the center of speculation that she could be stepping into Selina Kyle's leather suit, and there may have been a Catwoman easter egg in Justice League.

Wen's tenure on the ABC series continues into season five, where May and her team will journey into space and combat alien threats.

Gotham City Sirens currently has no announced release date. Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. returns to ABC December 1.
