Artist Alex Ross Compares Justice League Poster To Previous Work

Fan-favorite artist Alex Ross took to Twitter today to ask the DC fandom a simple enough question. "Look familiar…?" he tweeted as he compared the latest movie poster of the upcoming Justice League movie side by side with one of his previous Justice League pieces from his time at DC Comics.

The latest Justice League poster — which Warner Brothers unveiled earlier this week — shows Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, The Flash, and Cyborg as they're looking forward into the distance. Like the rest of the movie's marketing, Superman has been left off the poster as we have yet to see him make his triumphant return after being killed at the hand of Doomsday in Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice.

Alongside the Justice League poster, Ross shared an image of his version of the Justice League that he previously drew. In his image, Ross' iteration of the Justice League — including Superman, Green Lantern, and Martian Manhunter sans Cyborg — is also seen looking off into the distance.

The Eisner-winning artist first became well-known for his work alongside Kurt Busiek on the four-issue limited series Marvels (1994), which went on to win three Eisner Awards. Ross then went on to become a mainstay at DC Comics, where he teamed up with writer Mark Waid on Kingdom Come (1997), another book that won multiple Eisner awards.

In Justice League, fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman's selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash—it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.

Justice League is directed by Zack Snyder, from a screenplay by Chris Terrio, and features an ensemble cast that includes Ben Affleck (Batman), Henry Cavill (Superman), Gal Gadot (Wonder Woman), Ezra Miller (The Flash), Jason Momoa (Aquaman), Ray Fisher (Cyborg), Ciarán Hinds (Steppenwolf), Amy Adams (Lois Lane), Diane Lane (Martha Kent), Jeremy Irons (Alfred Pennyworth), J.K. Simmons (Commissioner Gordon), Amber Heard (Mera), Kiersey Clemons (Iris West) and Jesse Eisenberg (Lex Luthor).
