The team didn't know how to react when Katie Cassidy's Black Siren entered the picture, and season 6 is set to explore what turned her into a villain.
Black Siren is the Earth 2 version of Laurel Lance, and as Cassidy revealed to ComicBook.com's Russ Burlingame at San Diego Comic-Con, there will be more revealed about her history in the coming months.
"Yes, I think the more we learn about her backstory and what her relationship was like with Oliver, absolutely," said Cassidy. "I think it will make sense in the end and not necessarily make her as bad of a person. You might be like "Oh, okay that makes sense." Yes, I do think we'll know more."
Cassidy also believes there is a chance at becoming something more than a villain, giving fans something that they can relate to.
"Yes, I do think there's a chance at redemption for her. I think there will be people who understand when she has the opportunity and once we learn what she's gone through, why she is the way that she is. I think people will be able to relate to it, have sympathy for her. I think there's a chance at really helping her get back to who she is at her core, and potentially not be so crazy, and have a good side to her, but I think as time goes on we'll learn that."

After a violent shipwreck, billionaire playboy Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) was missing and presumed dead for five years before being discovered alive on a remote island in the North China Sea. He returned home to Star City, bent on righting the wrongs done by his family and fighting injustice. Oliver has finally solidified and strengthened his crime-fighting team only to have it threatened when unexpected enemies from his past return to Star City, forcing Oliver to rethink his relationship with each member of his "family".
Based on the characters from DC, ARROW is from Bonanza Productions Inc. in association with Berlanti Productions and Warner Bros. Television, with executive producers Greg Berlanti ("The Flash," "Supergirl"), Marc Guggenheim ("DC's Legends of Tomorrow," "Eli Stone"), Wendy Mericle ("Desperate Housewives," "Eli Stone"), Andrew Kreisberg ("The Flash," "Eli Stone," "Warehouse 13") and Sarah Schechter ("The Flash," "DC's Legends of Tomorrow").
Supergirl premieres on Monday, October 9th at 8 pm, while The Flash debuts on Tuesday, October 10 at 8 pm. Legends of Tomorrow moves to Tuesdays this Fall, airing right after The Flash on October 10. On Thursday, October 12 at 9 pm Arrow will premiere to round out the DC roster.
