Fans of the popular series have been hoping to see it adapt the iconic look of the Green Arrow as he often appears on the pages of DC Comics books. While the suit Amell's Oliver Queen wears while fighting crime in Star City resembles the comic book counterpart closely enough to satisfy fans, its the iconic goatee fans are hoping to see realized in live action.
Based on one of Amell's most recent tweets, the goatee might be coming to life in the show's sixth season.
"Season 6 training," Amell captioned a photo of his beard. Could it finally be happening?
If so, the beard turned goatee won't be the only major change coming to Arrow in its next batch of episodes. The actor recently played host to a Q&A at Heroes & Villains FanFest where he revealed the theme of Season 6. "The theme of Season 5 was legacy," Amell said. "From what I understand, the theme of Season 6 is family."
Still, this would not be the first time fans of Arrow get to see Amell rocking the comic book accurate look of the Green Arrow.
The Goatee's History
Not only has Amell already promised to sport a look which closely resemblesthe Green Arrow to start Season 6 at a time when he was unsure whether or not there would be one, he has also acknowledged his own faults in claiming he would never have the goatee.
Amell rocked the goatee look in an episode of Legends of Tomorrow which saw the group meeting an Oliver Queen from the future. With Arrow showing no signs of slowing down as it soars into its sixth season, the path Oliver takes toward growing that goatee might be realized!
Season 5 wrapped up with a massive cliffhanger just last week. The next season will begin production in the coming months for a Fall 2017 debut.
