Green Arrow is known for his trick arrows in comic books and it looks like his television incarnation will be making use of one in Arrow's upcoming sixth season.
During a question and answer panel at the Heroes & Villains FanFest in New Jersey today, Stephen Amell was asked which of Green Arrow's classic trick arrows was his favorite and Amell's gave fans a little tease of the Arrowverse crossover event.
My favorite high-tech arrow?" Amell said. "I like the bolo arrow a lot and I like the arrow I use in the crossover this year."
Back in Arrow's third season fans saw Oliver us the iconic boxing glove arrow against Ted Grant in the episode "Guilty" so it's very unlikely it will make a reappearance in the crossover. Additionally, Amell was asked about high-tech arrows and while few details about the four-show crossover event have been revealed, it was previously shared that Kara Danvers/Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) and her sister, Alex Danvers (Chyler Leigh) are set to be at the center of the event. It's also been promised that the crossover is expected to "raise the emotional stakes" of the shows' shared universe and with not to Supergirl facing Kryptonian villain Reign this season fans might just get to see the Kryptonite arrow in action.
In comics, the Kryptonite arrow was created by Bruce Wayne and Oliver uses it to take down Superman. If Reign ends up factoring into the crossover or if part of the "emotional stakes" described ends up being that Supergirl needs to be neutralized, the Kryptonite arrow would be a logical and fitting choice, one that Amell himself has said that he thinks Oliver has probably already done his research on.
At Wizard World New Orleans earlier this year, Amell said that feels like Oliver has already done his research on the other superheroes in the Arrowverse.
"I think Oliver has definitely researched Kryptonite, for sure," Amell said. "Like Kryptonite, and how do I take away his super-speed? I might need to waste these guys at some point, and I'm going to have to have my bag of tricks."
Arrow returns to television on Thursday, October 12th on The CW.
The as-yet-untitled Arrowverse crossover will take place on November 27th and 28th, with Arrow moving for one week to Monday nights at 9 p.m.
