One of the interesting aspects of DC's twice-monthly shipping schedule is that it isn't only variant covers we're getting to see at relatively the last minute anymore.
Each month, many of DC's books are coming out twice, with only one cover appearing in the Previews magazine and other official outlets where the solicitation text is printed or released. And that means, like today, the publisher can provide media outlets with an exclusive first look at a comic that will be in your hot little hands in less than a month.
That's what they've done with both the variant and standard covers for both The Flash #7 and Hal Jordan and the Green Lantern Corps #5.
You can check them out in the attached image gallery, and read the solicitation text and cover credits below. Both issues are due in stores on September 28.
Below the solicitation text for each, I've provided a ComiXology link to pre-order the issue...but of course, if you want a hard copy, your local comic shop should probably be able to accommodate you since we're so far out ahead.
