The marketing machine for Warner Bros. has finally kicked into gear for Wonder Woman. In fact, fans in New York will be hard-pressed to miss her.
Wonder Woman actress Gal Gadot shared a photo of their latest marketing blitz, which consisted of a full takeover of New York's tourist attraction Times Square. The digital billboards feature a number of Wonder Woman posters in all their gorgeous glory, and Gadot couldn't be more excited. She captioned the photo with "gal_gadotAnd then this happened..💃🏻🙈 #nobiggie #nyc #wonderwoman #wondergal #excited #moviecomesoutjune2nd!!! #happiness"
At one point it seemed Warner Bros. was being very conservative with its marketing campaign, especially compared to the campaigns for past DC films like Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Suicide Squad. Now that Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is done and out of the way, the path is open for Wonder Woman to hit the ground running, and things like this will only help.
Wonder Woman hits movie theaters around the world next summer when Gal Gadot returns as the title character in the epic action-adventure from director Patty Jenkins. Before she was Wonder Woman, she was Diana, princess of the Amazons, trained to be an unconquerable warrior. Raised on a sheltered island paradise, when an American pilot crashes on their shores and tells of a massive conflict raging in the outside world, Diana leaves her home, convinced she can stop the threat. Fighting alongside man in a war to end all wars, Diana will discover her full powers…and her true destiny.
Wonder Woman is directed by Patty Jenkins and is written by Allan Heinberg, Geoff Johns, and Zack Snyder. The film stars Gal Gadot (Diana Prince/Wonder Woman), Chris Pine (Steve Trevor), Robin Wright (General Antiope), Connie Nielsen (Queen Hippolyta), David Thewlis, Elena Anaya, Lucy Davis (Etta Candy), Danny Huston, Ewen Bremmer, Doutzen Kroes, Samantha Jo (Euboea), Florence Kasumba (Senator Acantha), Said Taghmaoui, Eleanor Matsuura (Epione), Emily Carey (Young Diana), and Lisa Loven Kongsli (Menalippe).
