Gotham: Penguin For Mayor Campaign Released

While the US is tied up in election crisis of our own, the world of Gotham is getting their own dose of the political madness. As the discontent for Mayor Aubrey James continues to rise, a new candidate has revealed himself as heavy competition.

People may not have been happy with Mayor James, but they don't know what they're in for if they choose to elect Oswald Cobblepot.

In order to gain more control of Gotham, and keep Fish Mooney away from power, The Penguin has decided it's time for him to run for public office. Just like Oilver Queen in Arrow, we could be on the verge of another major character in charge of their city.

Cobblepot has become a prominent figure in the city of Gotham, and many people have begun to like his style. At least, they think they do. The people only see the rebellious, young attitude, but they have no idea of the evil actions that occur behind the scenes.

The official Gotham Facebook and YouTube accounts have now launched a fictional campaign for Cobblepot, and it has strong ties to a certain political candidate currently running for president. Check out the campaign ad they released Wednesday:

"Make Gotham Safe Again."

Much like Donald Trump's campaign, Penguin is using people's disdain for politicians to garner belief in his ideas. By keeping the attention on his enemies, he is able to completely mask the horrific truths of his own actions.

In other words, Gotham is comparing Donal Trump to an ugly, whiny, criminal who is a constant thorn in the side of the characters you love most. The post on Facebook even includes a direct quote from Trump himself.

Whether either one of them wins their election remains to be seen.
