Gorilla Grodd is bringing the pain to DC's Legends of Tomorrow next season, and he's bringing some friends along with him.
At The CW's TCA panel, it was revealed that Grodd would be organizing a new group of super villains to challenge the Legends team. His group includes Kuasa and Damien Darhk among its members. The group is said to be organized similarly to last season's villainous collective, the Legion of Doom, and even has a name of its own, though executive producer Marc Guggenheim isn't spilling the beans on what that name is just yet.
"I have a name for them that I would love to see referenced on the show," Guggenheim tells Entertainment Weekly. "But like the Legion of Doom, we have to figure out a way to get it in there."
In the DC Animated Universe series Justice League, Gorilla Grodd led the Secret Society, a version of the Secret Society of Super-Villains from the DC Comics Universe of which he was also a member. Perhaps a live-action version of the Society is coming to Legends of Tomorrow.
DC's Legends of Tomorrow will begin its third season on Oct. 10, 2017.
As the world crumbles, the Time Master Rip Hunter (Arthur Darvill) takes matters into his own hands; he travels 150 years into the past to assemble a carefully selected team of heroes and rogues, who together will be… Legends.
Hunter has chosen what seems like an ill-matched group that includes the likes of billionaire inventor Ray Palmer (Brandon Routh), who has created an exo-suit with the power to shrink him to miniscule size as the Atom; Sara Lance (Caity Lotz), the White Canary, a trained assassin; Professor Martin Stein (Victor Garber) and Jefferson "Jax" Jackson (Franz Drameh), who together form the meta-human Firestorm; Mick Rory (Dominic Purcell), aka Heat Wave, a career criminal; and Amaya Jiwe, a hero from the past who like her granddaughter after her fights injustice as the animal-fueled Vixen.
Convinced by Hunter to join him, the group travels back and forth through time to try to stop irreparable damage to the timeline of history. The fate of the world is in the hands of this unlikely team, and the battle to save the earth will be legendary.
Based on the characters from DC Comics, DC's Legends of Tomorrow is from Bonanza Productions Inc. in association with Berlanti Productions and Warner Bros. Television, with executive producers Greg Berlanti ("Arrow," "The Flash," "Supergirl"), Marc Guggenheim ("Arrow," "Eli Stone," "Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters"), Andrew Kreisberg ("Arrow," "The Flash," "Eli Stone," "Warehouse 13"), Phil Klemmer ("The Tomorrow People," "Chuck"), Chris Fedak ("Forever," "Chuck"), and Sarah Schechter ("Arrow," "The Flash").
