You won't find very many people occupying planet Earth who would argue that Transformers: The Last Knight is a better movie than Wonder Woman. However, Paramount and the Transformers filmmakers can certainly add a mark to the "win" column, as its being reported that Transformers 5 officially dethroned Wonder Woman in this week's home video sales.

According to Variety, Transformers 5 debuted at No. 1 on both of the national home video sales charts for the week ending on September 30th. To be fair, Wonder Woman was in the second week of home video release when The Last Knight hit shelves, and still sold approximately 87% of Transformers did.

So, despite what the rankings might say, Wonder Woman is actually still the bigger (and better) movie.

Here were the other movies rounding out the top 5 in video sales this week:

  1. Transformers: The Last Knight (new)
  2. Wonder Woman
  3. 47 Meters Down (new)
  4. The Mummy
  5. Guardians of the Galaxy vol. 2

Tom Crusie's Mummy is especially ironic to see on the list; it was just announced yesterday that Universal's Dark Universe franchise (which The Mummy was supposed to launch) has been put on haitus for now. One wonder what will happen if The Mummy connects with audiences on the home video circuit.

Also of note was the IT TV mini-series from the '90s, which sits at no. 8, thanks to the runaway success of the new film.

You can now catch both Wonder Woman and Transformers: The Last Knight on digital HD, DVD and Blu-ray.
