Fans are eagerly awaiting the forthcoming season of Young Justice after a five-year hiatus. As the anticipation begins to mount, the creators of the series have finally begun revealing some intriguing details about Season 3 AKA Young Justice: Outsiders.
We already heard about some of the new characters coming to the series, but the core cast of Young Justice will be intact for the upcoming season — though they’ll have gone through some radical changes. ComicBook.com sat down with producers Brandon Vietti and Greg Weisman were joined by lead character designer Phillip Bourassa to discuss the new season. Watch the video above!
“If you look at the art that we showed [during the panel], you’ll notice there’s no hero insignias,” said Bourassa, lead character designer. “There's no telltale signs of this is Nightwing, this is Black Lightning. Following the tradition of the covert ops aspects, the stealth missions that we always had in the show, and looking at Dick Grayson’s arc and where we left him, he’s like ‘I don’t want to do the superhero thing.’ You can see where that’s going.”
The concept art Bourassa mentioned shows Artemis, Nightwing, Black Lightning, and Superboy all clad in black.
We’re excited to learn more about the Team’s battle against the light, what the status of the Justice League is, and if Rob Lowe will return to voice this awesome version of Captain Marvel.
