Everyone is talking about Overwatch's latest hero (or villain, rather): Doomfist. We were so excited when Doomfist was revealed, but there was one tiny detail that struck us as somewhat disappointing at first. Terry Crews was nowhere to be heard, and we knew that he wanted to voice this character so badly! We wanted it too, but after hearing Doomfist and seeing his origin video, I have to say that Blizzard made the right call putting its character first, and the popularity of a prospective voice actor second.

In a recent interview with PC Gamer, Joe Donnelly catches up with Terry to ask him about Doomfist. "The Overwatch community was seemingly crying out for you," he said. "Were you expecting a call from Blizzard?" Terry's response is incredible. It shows complete humility, and it shows that he's a true fan of the game, which has brought him and his son together. Here's what he had to say:

"It's funny because when I went down to Blizzard and we were talking about possibilities I realised that I don't wanna be the guy that hijacks a game, you know? The creators have a vision and I didn't want to mess that up. I was not interested in trying to hijack the game, I let them know that whatever fitted in their programme I would love to do.

"When I saw that Doomfist was created, that they'd went with another guy, the whole thing, it's actually quite perfect, it's absolutely amazing. I can honestly say that they made a move that's better for the game, which is what they're about. I know people were upset but I'm not." Of course, Terry is always looking to the future, ever being an optimist. He went on:

"If I ever do do anything with Blizzard, you watch: it'll be perfect. With those guys, we're all friends, we're all good. I think there will be something coming down the line—but the good thing for me, through all of this, is that I ended up doing Microsoft's Crackdown which is huge."

That's a mature and loving human being right there. We can't wait to see Terry in action in Crackdown 3, and when Doomfist shows up in Overwatch next week, we're going to wreak havoc with smiles on our faces, knowing that Terry and his son are doing the exact same thing and having a ball.
