Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment has officially announced their new label Portkey Games. If the name sounds familiar to Harry Potter fans, there's a reason for that. Appropriately named after a transportation device used by wizards, this team is tasked with bringing even more magic to the world of consoles with a new line of games that "will give Harry Potter fans the chance to be transported into the wizarding world and placed at the center of their own adventure."

According to Pottermore, it won't just be familiar places that wizards can re-visit - the new line will also include all new locations to explore and new adventures to embark on. The President of Warner Bros. said it best:

"With Portkey Games, we are thrilled to answer the fans' requests for more games inspired by J.K. Rowling's Wizarding World. We are working with talented creators to build games that focus on player-generated stories, which will live alongside the magical universe created by J.K. Rowling."

The popular franchise first launched in 1997 with the book series by JK Rowling following a young Harry Potter through mysteries, tragedy, and triumph. The series immediately became beloved by millions all over the world and spawned one of the largest movie adaptations in history. We've had a few video game adaptations in the past, but Portkey Games aims to continue that love into console and mobile gaming.

There is not further information at this time but Portkey promises huge updates not only soon, but "very soon". Guess it's time to dust off those wands, Wizards, it's time for more Harry Potter!
