We’re just a week away from Christmas, and there’s a good chance that most of you have already finished up your holiday shopping. If not, well, good luck dealing with stores, because they’re chock full of people seeking out last-minute bargains in time for next Monday.
But if you’re like me, you’ve got most of the “big” presents figured out, and now all you’re trying to do is find some stocking stuffers to add the cherry on top, if you will. Normally, a gift card would do well in these situations, but we’ve got a few personable suggestions for the gamers in your life, stuff that will make them light right up – even after they’ve opened up the new game system you’ve gotten them.
Let’s run down some of the best stocking stuffers you can score right now!
If you’ve been wanting to give that PlayStation owner a little something extra for the holidays – and a PlayStation Now membership is just outside your reach – then take the next best option with a PlayStation Plus membership. You can get it for only $40 on GameStop, and it’s worth every penny. Plus, at that price, you can pick up a membership for someone else, and extend your own as well! Get your hands on this before it goes back to regular price!
Thinkgeek has a lot of cool stuff on sale, but there’s a nice little gift for those of you feeling nostalgic for Disney’s 80’s/90’s Disney Afternoon shows – a collectible set of figures featuring Scrooge McDuck from DuckTales, Chip and Dale from Chip ‘n Dale’s Rescue Rangers, and several others. They go for $9.99 apiece, and the bliss they’ll bring to inner children everywhere is unmatched. Go ahead and order up a whole set, and don’t forget to buy your loved one The Disney Afternoon Collection for Xbox One or PlayStation 4 to boot!
Let’s say you have a gamer in your life, but you can’t quite afford the luxurious PlayStation 4 Pro console they’ve been yearning for. Why not go for the next best thing – a miniature arcade game that feels like a blast from the past? That’s what MyArcade’s line-up of games delivers, with hours worth of fun through a trio of Data East favorites, including Burgertime, Bad Dudes vs. Dragon Ninja and Karate Champ. They’re only $30 each and fit snugly in a stocking. Check out more details about the games here, and expect more where that came from in 2018!
PDP has producing quite the line-up of collectible items lately with its Pixel Pals, light-up little figurines that stem from a number of popular franchises, including Halo, Mario, The Legend of Zelda, Ratchet and Clank and many others. There’s also a line of toys stemmed from popular TV shows of the past, including Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and even Ren and Stimpy. Most of the Pixel Pals are easy to find, but you can always check the main site if you’re looking for a particular favorite!
Although this may be one of the tougher gifts to come by, Super Mario Cereal would easily be a high point during anyone’s Christmas season. Not only does this newly released cereal taste great, but it also comes with an Amiibo built into the box, so you can scan it with Super Mario Odyssey and unlock yourself a sweet new outfit within the game. Just do some checking around online (or at your local store) and this cereal is as good as yours. Note: you may want to pick up two boxes, so you can have one for yourself.
Who says you can’t conquer the holidays? Not Sony. The publisher has recently begun offering a three-foot long battle axe taken straight from the forthcoming 2018 PlayStation 4 game, and it’s a wonder to behold. It looks incredibly authentic, but, relax, it won’t hurt anyone – provided they don’t swing it like a baseball bat, anyway. It may have a little trouble fitting into smaller stockings, but there’s no doubt that this will make someone’s Christmas a little brighter.
While this gift may be a bit more on the expensive side, there’s no question that it’s well worth it for Cuphead fans. Iam8bit’s beautiful album set features all the music from the hit Xbox One and PC game, and also comes with a digital copy, in case you feel like leaving your record set sealed. It’s got beautiful cover art and liner notes straight out of the 30’s, and should stand out in anyone’s given record collection. Iam8bit also has a number of other LP’s that are worth checking out, so shop around!
Want to do some good for the community while giving out a heartwarming gift to your friend? Heading to the AbleGamers shop will let you do just that, as you can pick up a number of shirts right now for $25 plus shipping, along with a collectible pin for good measure. All proceeds help out AbleGamers, while giving you a cool design to reward to your friends and/or loved ones. That Retro Gamer shirt alone is worth the purchase, as you don’t see too many shirts with just one joystick offered anymore.
If you’re unsure of what to get someone in particular, you can’t go wrong with a random crate. The team at LootCrate offers up a variety of them, including LootCrate DX, Lootwear, LootGaming, LootAnime and even specialty crates based on Destiny 2 and Halo. The price is just about right ($20 a month, pending discount codes), and your friend gets a whole lot for the money. You can even set up a membership and keep giving them stuff all year around, if you wish. Here’s to the loot!
While the Disney Infinity franchise is pretty much done for, that doesn’t mean you can’t have fun with the games. In fact, Toys ‘R Us is selling them for an incredible bargain right now, with the full playsets going for $2 and figures going for $1 apiece. That means you can clean house and get someone a full set of toys for just under $10. If that doesn’t spell “bargain stocking stuffer” this holiday season, we’re not sure what does. Pick up a set and get reacquainted with the Force, just in time for The Last Jedi!
