Personal confession time: I'm a total sucker for genderbend cosplays. For me, it just shows that creativity knows no bounds and that cosplay really is for everyone regardless of the characters we love most. Naturally when I came upon this Mortal Kombat Scorpion cosplay that is quite literal fire, I just had to share:

The cosplayer in question goes by 'Justyeliz' and she's an Australian gamer with some serious talent. From anime, to games, she definitely has an impressive portfolio, on that we can't seem to get enough of!

Ma girl @bethanymaddock at the #mk11reveal! She literally had a photo taken with my picture! 🥰I feel so humbled and loved by the Mortal Kombat community! So many DMs, videos, photos, tags and screenshots were sent to me about my pictures appearing at the event, it makes me kinda emotional having that recognition in the MK world. It’s a beautiful feeling. 🙏🏼 Thank you ALL so much! 😭 @mortalkombat always shows me love and I appreciate and respect that so much. Sadly, I couldn’t go or celebrate with them at the Mortal Kombat 11 Reveal but at least I was there in spirit! Feeling super humbled! I LOVE MORTAL KOMBAT SO MUCH, I WILL REPRESENT FOREVER!!!💪🏼 ASLO THAT GAMEPLAY THOUGH!!! 🔥🔥🔥 Details and ALL!! DAMNNN (like Chris Tucker). #mk11 #mortalkombat #mortalkombat11 #mkkollective

Seriously, just look at the craftmanship? The detailing on the mask, just -- everything!

As for the game itself, Mortal Kombat 11 will arrive on April 23rd for Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and PC. According to the Steam's official listing, we've got a lot to look forward to:

"Mortal Kombat is back and better than ever in the next evolution of the iconic franchise. The all new Custom Character Variations give you unprecedented control to customize the fighters and make them your own. The new graphics engine showcasing every skull-shattering, eye-popping moment, brings you so close to the fight you can feel it. And featuring a roster of new and returning Klassic Fighters, Mortal Kombat's best in class cinematic story mode continues the epic saga over 25 years in the making."
