Valve Veteran Is Back As A Voice In Upcoming Portal Game

The first two Portal games were iconic. The physics-heavy adventure was surprisingly witty with hilarious banter between the various characters outside of the protagonist, Chell. One favourite is that of GlaDOS and though she might not get turned into a potato this go around with the upcoming Bridge Constructor Portal, she is at least coming back!

Ellen McLain, original voice actress for the mastermind AI, will be returning to the series' odd spin-off that will be hitting PC and mobile devices next week. But that wasn't the only thing revealed by developer Clockstone and Headup Games - they also revealed a few new screenshots to show off what the new title has to offer, despite not being a truly third Portal game.

"We welcome all lucky applicants to Bridge Constructor Portal with our new vehicle-based test chambers, Quantum Tunnels and patented Aperture technology!

For the last year we've been secretly working in our underground labs on the next iteration of the million-selling Bridge Constructor series. This new stand-alone title will release on PC, MacOS, Linux, mobile devices, and console, and fully embraces the Portal license, one of the most beloved video game franchises of the last decade.

Bridge Constructor Portal will blend the laws of structural engineering and technology straight from Aperture Laboratories into an exciting new game experience, all under the demanding gaze of GLaDOS."

Though the game won't be a true Portal 3 like many have been begging for over the last few years, it will at least tie in with the main games with Valve stamping their approval on the new project. Players will build their way to success, but don't forget to watch out for those turrets!

Bridge Constructor Portal will release on PC, iOS, and Android on December 20th, 2017, and with Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch versions slated for 2018.
