Call of Duty WWII Event

The first major community event in Call of Duty: WWII will launch in December with a popular map taking on a wintery feel in the multiplayer playlists.

Announced just recently in a post from Sledgehammer Games, the developers confirmed that the first seasonal event titled "Winter Siege" would begin on Dec. 8, a Friday that'll give players plenty of time to take part in all the new content. Exact details on what you can expect from the special winter event are lacking, but Sledgehammer Games did reveal that a map called Winter Carentan would be playable during the event.

"There's a ton packed into this special event, but one thing that we're particularly excited about is Winter Carentan," the announcement said. "One of the most beloved maps in Call of Duty history is now set in the cold and snowy winter of 1944 and will be free to all players for a limited time during the event and will be added to all MP game modes."

Domination and Hardpoint are two game modes that were recommended by the developers for the new map, but you'll be able to find Winter Carentan across all of your multiplayer playlists. Rewards will also be periodically given out to those who keep signing in during the event, so even if you don't have the time to play for hours on end, popping in to collect your rewards would be a smart idea. New game modes will also be launched once the Winter Siege event is underway, but no details on those game modes have been revealed.

Before Winter Siege starts though, Sledgehammer Gams has more plans for updates that should fix several exploits to follow up on recent updates and weapon rebalances.

"Next week, we'll have a game update that contains many important changes including map exploit fixes, UI improvements, fixes to issues with Party, connectivity optimizations, and more," the update continued, also adding that a reduced flinch for all weapon primaries is currently being tested.

Double XP is currently underway until Nov. 27 as well, so get plenty of Call of Duty: WWII time in during this period and check back closer to Dec. 8 for more information on the Winter Siege event.
