Doom And Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus Coming To Nintendo Switch

Bethesda already pledged its support to the Nintendo Switch earlier this year when it confirmed that it would be bringing Skyrim: Special Edition to the system, which has a set release date of November 2017. But that's not the only Bethesda franchise that's making its way to the system.

During today's Nintendo Direct, the publisher confirmed that two more iconic franchises would be making their way to the Nintendo Switch.

There wasn't too much footage of Doom revealed just yet, but it looks to be just as jam-packed with excitement as the previous versions that came out for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC. We're likely to see more of the game before it gets revealed this holiday season. But there's no doubt it'll be a great game to play, whether you're at home, or taking it on the go to kill demons wherever you may go.

On top of that, Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus is also confirmed for the system. No doubt it'll be modified a little bit so that it can run properly on the Nintendo Switch, but fans will still be able to enjoy bashing Nazi heads with the legendary B.J. Blazkowicz wherever they wish to go.

That said, the game won't be coming out at the same time as the Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC versions. While those editions are coming out on October 27th, we won't see the Switch port until sometime in early 2018. Still, fans are sure to take it in stride – and maybe enjoy a milkshake while they wait.

This is good news all around for third-party support for the Switch, with two iconic franchises coming to the system. Will we see further support from Bethesda down the line? Could The Evil Within 2 be far behind? For that matter, maybe even a little Quake Champions action…

Let's not get ahead of ourselves. Let's enjoy Skyrim when it comes out this November, and then Doom when it follows shortly thereafter, and Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus whenever it arrives early next year. It's time to lock and load and take on enemies wherever you go!
