A new blog post from Bandai Namco Entertainment details upcoming events, items and DLC additions to the wildly popular Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2, including a mysterious new character. The developers have been working to deliver ongoing updates to the game so that fans will "never be bored," and the update pushes that effort forward with an all new storyline.

First up, fans who own the Extra Pack 2 will be able to download a new story scenario as well as four new playable characters that will "appear and disrupt" the world of the game. According to the post, players will embark on a new Time Patrol quest with the team they've built, and encounter a new character named Fu. "He is a mysterious teenager with a ninja sword on his back," the post explains. "His basic attacks are often sword-based technics, however he's also great at long-distance attacks. He looks mischievous and holds the key to this new story mode…"

The character feels like particularly interesting contrast to Trunks, another once-mysterious teenager with a sword on his back (in at least one time line, maybe a few others). He's not entirely mysterious to fans of the series, though, given that he was first introduced in Dragon Ball Online as the son of Mira and Towa from the Demon Realm.

Additionally, the winter update will add a new function that allows players to customize canon characters from the saga with the ability to change their costumes, attacks, and abilities. Along with this, special new costumes will be also added, including Goku's "Journey to the West" costume.

Finally, a new system called the "Cross Ultimate Attack System" is coming to the game, enabling players to team up with characters in their game and launch Ultimate Attacks together.

Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 is currently available to play on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
