For those of you that were wondering if we'd see more Hitman on the horizon – especially after Square Enix pretty much gave up on the franchise and gave the rights to developer IO Interactive – there's good news for you. Agent 47 is back in business – and it's the business of killing.

IO Interactive has announced that it will release Hitman: Game of the Year Edition on November 7th. It'll mark the first official release for the game handled by the developer, instead of previous publisher Square Enix.

The game, which will be available for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC, will feature a new campaign mission called Patient Zero. With it, you'll be able to partake in over four missions, hunting down a new elusive target who's planning to use a virus that he's infected with against the world. That could make your mission a little more dangerous, but if anyone's up for the job, it's clearly Agent 47.

In addition, the GOTY edition will also introduce new campaign missions, along with three escalation contracts, all new suits for Agent 47 (including a clown costume – someone's a fan of Stephen King's It) and improvements to the visuals over previous versions of the game, including lighting enhancements and more.

The game in itself will sell for $60. For those of you that already own some version of Hitman, you can simply pay $20 for the new content to see what it has to offer. And for those that don't choose to upgrade just yet, not to worry, as you'll still be able to check out several contracts as well with a soon-to-be-released update.

You can check out the first trailer for Patient Zero above, and it really gets you in the mood to jump back into Hitman and see what it has to offer. And hopefully this is just the beginning, as IO Interactive could introduce a new season that gives us even more targets to hunt down and kill in our own special way. It's all about Agent 47, so we're fine with that.

Hitman: The Complete First Season is available now for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC.
