The Idolmaster is easily one of the most well-known worldwide Japanese titles on the market right now, and for good reason. The fast-paced rhythm game lets players customize their idols and unlock new songs by completing different song challenges -- at least, that's the basic idea. Today. Bandai Namco released new details around a DLC for The Idolmaster: Stella Stage, which adds more costumes, songs, and a new set to the game.

Check out the trailer for the update below:

  • Song: "Seisai Stepper"
  • Costume: "Hoshisaki Guide"
  • Set: "Seisai Set"
  • Costume: "Tropical Swimmer"
  • Song: "Watashi-tachi wa Sutto… deshou?"
  • Costume: "Forever Star ☆☆☆"
  • Costume: "Sleeping Prima"
  • More downloadable songs, including "Megare!," "Fate of the World," and "Shuzuka na Yoru ni Negai o…"

Stella Stage released just weeks ago on December 20th, adding more story and new idol heroines to the game. The new update, which is said to include many additional accessories, will launch on January 11th. The new storyline isn't exceptionally new, but it does revolve around the new primary challenge of Stella Stage, which is setting up the show itself: "765 Production president Junjirou Takagi and 961 Production president Takao Kuroi. Takagi, who was unable to fulfill that dream, entrusts the protagonist (the player), who becomes the girls of 765 Production's new producer, to do what he could not. Kuroi, on the other hand…"

Despite The Idolmaster being exclusively available in Japan, the worldwide audience of players has been so passionate that the franchise, which began in 2005, has launched a number of different games, a tv show, live stage shows, and more.

The Idolmaster: Stella Stage is available only in Japan for the PlayStation 4.
