Comic book fans may be going nuts over Injustice 2 this week – and for good reason – but come September, a good majority of them will turn their attention to Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite. With that, the comic book titan is ready to do some cross-over action of its own, with a number of variant covers that will soon be making their way to comic books.

The company announced the promotion today, with the Infinite Variant Covers appearing across twenty different comic books that will be making their way to store shelves this August. While it hasn't provided a look as to how these covers will appear just yet, you can expect plenty of dueling possibilities with guest stars on the covers – maybe even a few Capcom faces.

"Fight fans, if you can't wait until September 19th to see heroes from two awesome universes collide in Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite, we're bringing you a sneak peek one month earlier when the battle explodes onto the covers of your favorite comics," said Marvel Games executive creative director Bill Rosemann. "The game makers at Capcom and Marvel are working closely with a team of the industry's top talent to deliver all the over the top intensity you've come to expect from this fan favorite franchise."

The twenty covers that will be distributed later this summer are as follows:

  1. ALL-NEW GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY #7
  2. AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #31
  3. AVENGERS #10
  4. BLACK PANTHER #17
  5. CHAMPIONS #11
  6. DEFENDERS #4
  7. DOCTOR STRANGE #24
  8. GENERATIONS: BANNER HULK & THE TOTALLY AWESOME HULK #1
  9. GENERATIONS: THE UNWORTHY THOR & THE MIGHTY THOR #1
  10. HAWKEYE #9
  11. I AM GROOT #4
  12. INVINCIBLE IRON MAN #10
  13. MIGHTY THOR #22
  14. ROCKET #4
  15. SECRET EMPIRE #8
  16. SPIDER-MAN #19
  17. SPIDER-MAN/DEADPOOL #20
  18. THANOS #10
  19. THE MIGHTY CAPTAIN MARVEL #8
  20. VENOM #153

This could also indicate some possible faces we'll be seeing in the game down the road. For instance, Venom, who hasn't appeared since Marvel vs. Capcom 2, could be making the rounds since one of his comic books are included. It sounds like Black Panther could be a go as well. And…Deadpool? Please?

Capcom will likely confirm some new combatants next month at the Electronic Entertainment Expo, where the game will be on full display for all to play. We can't wait!

Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite arrives on September 19th for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC.
