A lot of companies already have big plans in place when it comes to this year's Electronic Entertainment Expo, which kicks off starting next week with a series of press conferences before leading to the big show next Tuesday.

But some people are wondering just what Microsoft will be up to. Obviously, the publisher will be leaning on the strength of its Project Scorpio hardware, which is set to get some sort of big reveal during its press conference next Sunday; and there are also various hit games to consider, including the forthcoming Forza Motorsport 7 and the long-awaited Crackdown 3.

One word that the company used to describe what's coming? "Interesting." Xbox boss Phil Spencer took to Twitter when a fan asked him what we can expect from the big show this year, and his response was pretty much on point.

A Twitter user by the name of @BlackOpsXboxOne asked, "How is your feeling about games on E3 2017?" To which Spencer replied, "For me this is one of our most interesting shows in a long time. I'm impressed with breadth and quality that will be shown."

We're not quite sure if "interesting" is the best term we'd use when it comes to describing an E3 line-up, but it does provoke some thought into just what Microsoft has in mind for its showcase. Again, this will be the time and place for the company to show off the features and visual quality of the Project Scorpio, and get sold for the hardware before it arrives later this year. And the games will obviously be of some importance, as the team will need to rely on more than its first-party strength to get systems out the door.

The company's presentation will take place next Sunday at 2 PM PDT, and will be broadcast live on Xbox.com, as well as its Facebook, YouTube and Twitch accounts, so you'll have plenty of places to see what Microsoft has in mind. Hopefully, it'll pick up to the point of "exciting," instead of just being "interesting." We'll find out in just a few days' time, so watch this space!
