Electronic Arts has been doing a great job with its Battlefield 1 expansions thus far, introducing more maps to run around in and more weapons than most players would dream of getting their hands on. But reports indicate that the game could be in for yet another big expansion, set to be announced next month during the company's EA Play event, which will take place during the same week as the Electronic Entertainment Expo.

According to early reports posted on Reddit, a new image points at the addition of a Russian Army into the game, one that's known for kicking ass and taking names. But, more importantly, this Army is made up of quite a few unique soldiers, namely the Women's Battalion of Death.

The description for the expansion, which you can see in the photo above, is as follows:

"Starting June 10th, EA Play will give you a closer look at In the Name of the Tsar. Coming in late summer, the expansion brings new maps, new weapons and the Russian Army – including the Women's Battalion of Death represented by the Russian Scout class."

Of course, female characters have started to become more prominent in first-person shooters over the past few years, so seeing even more joining up with the Battlefield 1 party will no doubt be good news – they can hold the battle line just as well as the male soldiers, and perhaps even better in some cases.

EA hasn't confirmed this expansion just yet, but the image is definitely official-looking, and EA Play seems like an ideal place to introduce the biggest add-on piece for the game to date. We'll take it slightly with a grain of salt for now, but don't be surprised if we see a trailer highlighting this new add-on very soon, probably during the company's hour-long press conference to kick off its EA Play event, starting on June 10th.

Now the only question is what we'll see with the new maps and weapons. If they're anything like what we've seen so far, we're definitely in for a good time.

Battlefield 1 is available now for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Origin PC.
