Report: Xbox One X’s Pre-Order Start Date May Have Been Revealed

The Xbox One X console was officially announced earlier this year, during Microsoft's pre-E3 press conference, where it touted that it was the most powerful console it's ever created. But a lot of consumers couldn't help but ask…when can we pre-order it?!
Granted, we know when it's coming out, but Microsoft has been talking about launching a pre-order program for the system for some time (for the regular edition of the system -- the Scorpio one went live last month and sold out QUICK), without an official date announced. However, the team at This Gen Gaming may have finally uncovered a pre-order start date – and it's not too far off.
According to the site, pre-orders for the standard Xbox One X system are set to kick off on September 21st, which is this coming Thursday. The team learned as such from Wal-Mart, who had a listing on its site indicating that pre-orders were set to begin on said date, with a "pre-order 9/21 in-store only" program set up.
We've posted the ad below, where it notes, "It's all about to change" and that the standard edition of the console, with system and controller, will be set to go for $499. It also lists some of the system's features, including Built-in 4K Blu-Ray, True 4K Gaming and Advanced multiplayer.
That said, the promotion, again, does appear to be in-store only, and this could be the route some retailers take in order to avoid having pre-orders get out of hand, like they did with the SNES Classic when pre-orders originally went online a few weeks ago.
Microsoft hasn't officially announced the pre-order start date yet, so, for now, it's best to take this rumor with a grain of salt. However, it could very well announce the pre-order program as soon as tomorrow, to get fans ready to get their hands on a system, and several retailers will likely step up soon thereafter, getting ready for the heavy demand that will come with it.
For now, keep a close eye on those retailer sites, because the program could literally launch at any time, if it's officially going to kick off this Thursday. We'll be watching as well and let you know when they go live.
The Xbox One X releases on November 7th of this year.
