Silver PlayStation 4 Coming Alongside Golden Model, But Not Everywhere

Well we've all known that a golden PlayStation 4 Slim model has been in the works, and will be imminently available to purchase, but that's not all Sony has up its sleeve. No one ever talks about second place; always praise for gold, and never praise for silver. This silver PS4, though, is worthy of praise. Sony just revealed that both consoles will be coming out soon. Take a look:

There's only one catch for now. The silver PlayStation 4 has only been confirmed by Sony in Europe, and the US Sony social accounts have been silent, boasting only the golden model for now to coincide with the Days of Play sale event, which begins this Friday.

We'd expect the North American PlayStation accounts to start promoting the silver PlayStation 4 soon if it is indeed going to go on sale alongside the golden model, but at the time of writing, nothing has surfaced. It's very strange to think that Sony might bring a different model as part of the same promotion to Europe, and not to the United States. It's especially strange considering the fact that the silver PS4 is by far the more attractive model. The golden PlayStation 4 is a bit of an eye-sore if you ask me. I wouldn't mind winning one from Taco Bell, but I sure as heck wouldn't spend money on one.

If you are planning to buy one, however, you'll be pleased to know that they're very aggressively priced at $250. It's now cheaper to jump into the world of PlayStation 4 than it is into the world of Nintendo Switch, something Sony definitely had in mind when pricing this product. If you're wanting something a little more future-proof for your 4K displays, then a PS4 Pro still goes for a premium, but the basic Slim PlayStation 4 model is a great entry point for anyone looking to broaden their backlog considerably.
