In the golden age of the Nintendo Entertainment System, Konami released a lot of games, including Castlevania, Contra and Gradius. But one game that a lot of old-school fans may remember is The Adventures of Bayou Billy, which featured segments with beat-em-up action, first-person shooting and driving. While it didn't quite score well with critics, some fans were quite pleased with how it turned out.

And now, Ship To Shore Phono Company is hoping those fans will cash in on a forthcoming vinyl soundtrack for the game. The team announced the soundtrack on Twitter earlier today, set to include a number of goodies that will cater to fans of the game.

The vinyl album will include the original NES/Famicom soundtrack, which has been remastered for vinyl, as well as a collectible Obi strip, cover art by Drew Wise, liner notes by Retronauts' Jeremy Parish and a special 11" X 17" poster designed by Austin James. You can take a look at the art in the tweet below.

Considering that a lot of retro soundtracks have been making their way to vinyl these days, it's good to see that Bayou Billy is getting a turn, but we can't help but wonder why it doesn't include the original Konami cover art from the Nintendo Entertainment System game. Perhaps Konami isn't involved with the release of the soundtrack directly, though it appears to have cleared the rights for it. We've reached out to the company to see if we could get more details on it.

A release date hasn't been given on the vinyl album just yet, as Ship To Shore Phono Company has simply listed it as "coming soon". But hopefully it'll drop later this year, so nostalgic fans will be able to check it out and add it to their growing vinyl collection. It should be priced pretty fairly too, considering what other soundtracks are currently priced for on the vinyl market. We'll let you know once a price is finalized.

In the meantime, you can get a sample of the game's soundtrack from the YouTube clip below. It probably wouldn't hurt to track down an NES copy of the game as well, if you're feeling nostalgic.
