The Avengers will be meeting Wakandan royalty for the first time this Sunday when Black Panther makes his big debut on Marvel's Avengers: Ultron Revolution and ComicBook.com has an exclusive behind the scenes featurette celebrating the big debut.

SVP of Marvel Animation & Family Entertainment Cort Lane shares some insight into how Black Panther differs from Marvel's other heroes like the Avengers.

"In our animated series, Black Panther sort of redefines what it means to be a superhero. That's exciting, to play him off of other heroes who have made a career out of being a hero. He's a king. He's a leader of an entire nation. He has responsibilities and his priorities are different than all the other heroes. His technology is advanced and yet he has this set of powers that are very organic to who he is."

It appears that the Avengers and T'Challa get off to a rather rough start, and Panther even takes Captain America's shield after their first meeting. Things only seem to worsen until a well known Panther villain shows up.

Joe Quesada, Marvel's Chief Creative Officer, detailed how the animation division translates these iconic characters and storylines into one or two episodes of a television show.

"When adapting one of our characters from comics to animation, the simple ingredient is just to try and get the essence of the character and break it down to, because you don't have the kind of time that you do in a comic. In a comic, like, you could publish multiple issues over the course of several years and really dig into the richness of the character, so in animation what we do is we distill that down to what are the key important parts, even if there are key important storylines, how can we adapt those and streamline them to be able to put them into our animated shows."

You can watch the entire featurette in the video above, which features additional interviews with Clark Gregg and Henry Simmons (Marvel's Agents of SHIELD) and Stephen Wacker (Vice President of Marvel Animation).

Marvel's Avengers: Ultron Revolution airs this Sunday on September 25th.
