Happy birthday, Electro! Jamie Foxx is celebrating his 49th birthday today.
Jamie Foxx (born Eric Morlon Bishop on December 13, 1967) grew up in Terrell, Texas and was raised by his maternal grandmother and grandfather. In 1989, the Academy Award-winning actor and Grammy Award-winning musician began his entertainment career by performing stand-up. He made his professional acting debut in 1991 when he joined the Season 3 cast of Fox's sketch comedy series In Living Color. A year later, he made his big screen debut in the Robin Williams's comedy Toys.
Foxx is best known to us for portraying Django Freeman in Quentin Tarantino's Django Unchained (2012) and Max Dillon/Electro in Marc Webb's The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (2014). Foxx won the Academy Award for Best Actor for his portrayal of legendary musician Ray Charles in the 2004 film Ray.
Prior to fame, Foxx began playing the piano at the age of 5. In high school, played basketball and broke school records playing quaterback on the school's football team, becoming the first player in the history of Terrell High School to throw for more than 1,000 yards.
